The mission of the Economic & Heritage Development Task Force is to increase awareness of the need to preserve, sensitively develop, and improve the environment of Carbon County for residents and visitors; to identify needs and opportunities and to bring these to the attention of elected officials. Since 2001, this task force has:
- Created, published, and distributed the first comprehensive guide to the County, the “Carbon County Economic & Heritage Development Resource Guide”.
- Initiated and assisted in the creation of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. The CCCC now has over 500 members, a full-time executive director, and an office in Lehighton. The Chamber provides its members with many benefits including extensive networking opportunities. To learn more about the chamber, please visit its web site.
- Hosted the Carbon County CEO Summit in which business executives met with state and county representatives to discuss key issues confronting the business community.
