Health & Human Services
The Health & Human Services Task Force supports, creates, and enhances the availability of health services, social services, and transportation services for all residents of Carbon County.
Activities & Accomplishments:
- Created the “Healthy Smiles, Happy Kids” project to provide dental care to more than 3,600 Carbon County children in need. The funds needed to buy and staff a mobile dental clinic were obtained from businesses, individuals, foundations, and matching governmental funds. The clinic became operational in February 2007.
- Developed the Carbon County Anti-Tobacco Coalition whose goal it is to provide smoke-free environments in all public places.
- Initiated wellness programs in County school districts to encourage good nutrition and exercise for a healthy life style.
