How Carbon County Partners for Progress Got Started
In April 1999, more than 250 community members from every corner of the County participated in a planning workshop. They split into small groups and used the classrooms at Lehighton High School to discuss and prioritize issues affecting the County. In the end, the input from each group was used to create a strategic planning framework in five key areas:

Taskforces were then established in each area to facilitate the development of goals and actions to be taken to achieve them. In 2001, the Carbon County Partners for Progress Strategic Action Plan was published and distributed throughout the County. This plan has been a compass to guide Carbon County into the future.
